BerchWood Partners
Placement agent BerchWood Partners has appointed Alexander J. F. Chaplin as an associate in its London office. Prior to joining BerchWood, Chaplin was an analyst with MVision Private Equity Advisers, where his work included reviewing fund opportunities, maintaining investor dialogue and conducting investor and market research.

NVM Private Equity
NVM Private Equity Ltd has appointed Martin Green as managing director. Green will take the reins from Alastair Conn, who is standing down after 20 years in the role to take up the role of financial director. Tim Levett continues as executive chairman.

Segulah Advisor
Swedish buyout house Segulah Advisor has appointed Erik Thorell to the newly created role of head of banking. Thorell, a former senior member of SEB's acquisition finance team, has more than 15 years experience in banking and is a specialist in LBO debt financing, including senior and mezzanine, and other structured debt arrangements. His main areas of responsibility will be to manage the firm's relationship with debt providers and advise on raising debt financing.

Crédit Agricole Private Equity
Crédit Agricole Private Equity (CAPE) has hired Delphine Inesta as investment manager in the special situation department, where she will focus on distressed companies. Inesta began her career with PricewaterhouseCoopers, where she carried out various projects in M&A, evaluation and restructuring within the Corporate Finance team.

EVCA
The European Investment Fund (EIF), Europe’s largest venture fund investor, has seconded Thomas Meyer to the EVCA for a period of three years, commencing in January. Meyer will work closely with the EVCA’s Venture Platform to develop policy proposals aimed at improving the legislative framework for the venture capital industry. Meyer is co-author of Beyond the J-Curve: Managing a Portfolio of Venture Capital and Private Equity Funds and he set up the EIF’s risk management function, which focuses on valuation, and investment strategies for venture and fund-of-funds.
